Staten Island Real Estate Homes & Condos

Located on the island of the same name, Staten Island is one of the five boroughs that make up the bustling New York City. The district is located in the extreme southwest part of the city and is home to about half a million residents. Staten Island’s transportation needs are provided by the Staten Island Ferry, which connects Staten Island to Manhattan, as well as the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge that connects the island with Brooklyn. Staten Island is also served by other tunnels and bridges, a bus system, and the Staten Island Railway. Education in Staten Island is provided by numerous public and private schools, as well as the College of Staten Island, Wagner College, and St. John’s University. Several branches of the New York Public Library system are also located in Staten Island. Health services in the area are provided by both the Staten Island University Hospital and the Richmond University Medical Center.

Staten Island offers its residents and guests many great dining, shopping, and recreational attractions. Numerous parks are scattered throughout the island, some of which hold historic attractions or have been incorporated into the Gateway National Recreation Area. Some parks such as Clay Pit Ponds and Clove Lakes Park offer water sports, fishing, picnicking, recreational sports, hiking, and much more. Staten Island has also been a popular destination for artists and musicians because of its close proximity to Manhattan and affordability of land, resulting in the expansion of Staten Island’s art scene. The area is also home to many museums such as the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, Staten Island Children’s Museum, and Staten Island Museum. The Staten Island Botanical Garden and New York Chines Scholar’s Garden are also located in Staten Island.
